I definitely enjoyed our day in Manitowoc despite the rain. Even though my husband and our three sons have not only toured the USS Cobia, but slept aboard the sub for Cub Scouts, I had never had the opportunity. I found the tour of this WWII submarine very interesting and our docent, who actually sailed aboard the sub in later years, full of personal stories - some humorous, some serious. If you have not taken the opportunity to step aboard this piece of history, I would highly recommend it. Stop for lunch at the Light House Inn and enjoy the view of Lake Michigan and do not leave until you have had a scoop of Cedar Crest Ice Cream!!
